Do you want to stop fear, social anxiety, and get out of your comfort zone? Of course. . .we all do.

But, what holds us hostage in the life that we have v. venturing out to discover the one that we dream about often is rooted in fear of the unknown, of not wanting to fail, or looking foolish.
Most of us at one time or another also suffers from social anxiety which further compounds these feelings of lack.
According to government records, social anxiety disorder is the most common anxiety disorder and the third most common mental disorder in the U.S., after depression and alcohol dependence. It is estimated that anywhere from 3%-13% of the population suffers from social anxiety disorder. In any year, as high as 19.2 million Americans have social anxiety disorder. The disorder most often surfaces in adolescence or early adulthood, but can occur at any time, including early childhood. It is more common in women than in men.
As a woman, growing up in a troubled household, staying back in first grade and afraid of anyone hearing my voice, just talking to friends was difficult. Now, as an inspirational speaker and wellness coach, the breakthrough to stop fear and find my power came from constantly putting myself into uncomfortable situations. Like a muscle being broken down by heavier and heavier weight, new challenges made me stronger and now that fear and social anxiety is all but gone.
Sometimes I wish that I had started exercising this discomfort muscle earlier in life, but I was so elated to see that the up in coming generations are learning from lessons that I missed early on.
